Immigration matters are handled through a paid consultation. Business advisory matters start with an introductory call.

If you need legal advice, we hold consultations by videoconference. LJD Law charges $400 CAD for consultations.

Please note: booking a consultation does not establish an ongoing lawyer-client relationship with LJD Law. It means you are entering into a limited-scope engagement covering the consultation only.

What Happens Next
Preparing for your consultation
Once you've booked, here's what we'll need from you before your consultation.

Fill out the Asana Intake Form. This is required to evaluate your file — please do this as soon as possible. If you have a spouse or common-law partner, they'll need to submit their own form too, ideally at the same time.

A brief summary of your situation (2 pages maximum), covering a timeline of events and the questions you'd like answered.

A valid government-issued photo ID — in accordance with Law Society of Ontario requirements, with cameras on throughout the consultation.

An updated CV (PDF format). Always include your current job. Include a full work experience and education section, with complete start and end dates (month and year) — mark "Not finished" for any incomplete education.

Any other relevant documentation for your case.
Please note: non-compliance with any of the above may be subject to rescheduling your consultation.
Important
Consultation Cancellation Policy

We understand that schedules can change. To ensure fairness to all clients and to protect consultation availability, the following applies:

  • Cancellations after booking confirmation: a $20 administrative fee will be applied.
  • Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled consultation: a $50 late cancellation fee will be applied.

All applicable fees are deducted from the total consultation fee, and any remaining balance is refunded accordingly. By proceeding with a booking, you acknowledge and agree to this cancellation policy.

Reminder: once you book, you'll be automatically prompted to complete the Asana Intake Form. Please fill it out as soon as possible so we can prepare for your call. You'll also need to prepare a one-page narrative of your business — where things stand and what you're looking to achieve — for us to review beforehand.
